Post title: right click / Align factory / don't

Hi,

That may be old school but if the content is not heavily protected, a simple right click on the page can allow you to download the current page. The html file obtained can be submitted to most CATs for analysis and translation. That's a manual, cumbersome process.

Another approach could be to use Align Factory to extract all the text in a website. However, same thing, it won't work if it's heavily protected.

The next option is a scraping tool. You'll get text but it will be malformed.

However, If your client is unwilling to give you the contents, then how do they plan to upload them? This seems like a very sketchy approach. What they should do is have a tech specialist prepare the contents for localization or use built-in tools for that on their back-end. If they don't want to do this, are they expecting you to rebuild the website? In short, it may be safer to avoid the job altogether.
