Post title: Tip: run a local CAT tool from a USB stick

Hi Alessandro,

Although there are many online CAT tools, I find they score pretty low on useful features and usability, and so do not recommend using them. However, some people seem to like them, so this may be just my personal preference. Here are a few of them:

– MateCat: [url removed] + [url removed]
– Wordfast Anywhere: [url removed] + [url removed]
– amigoCAT: [url removed]
– Memsource Cloud: [url removed]
– transdraft: [url removed] (from the guy who made TM-Town)
– TM-Town: [url removed] (not a CAT tool, but has interesting online features)
– Google Translator Toolkit: [url removed]
– Transifex: [url removed]
– XTM Cloud: [url removed]
– wordbee: [url removed]
– Lionbridge Translation Workspace: [url removed]
– SmartCAT (by ABBYY): [url removed]

Incidentally, several CAT tools can simply be run from a USB stick. I haven’t tested it yet, but my favourite, CafeTran ( [url removed] ), should be able to be run from one, as it is a Java program.

Michael
