Support for xliff 2.0 and later | XLIFF 2.0

Hello Alyssa,

XLIFF 2.0 is not a widely implemented standard yet (also, it is NOT backwards compatible with XLIFF 1.2 files) and I don't know any CAT tool that can import a native format (say a DOCX or PPTX file), create a XLIFF 2.0, and then export back a translated DOCX and PPTX.

So, do you want to find tools that create XLIFF 2.0 files out of original source files or simply tools that can handle/translate already created XLIFF 2.0 files?

Okapi Framework and OmegaT (via its Okapi filters) support an experimental XLIFF 2.0 filter: [url removed] and [url removed] #Support_for_XLIFF_2

I know CafeTran Espresso features an experimental filter for XLIFF 2.0 files as well: [url removed] #xliff-20

Tools that do not handle XLIFF 2.0 yet

Unless mistaken, the following tools do NOT handle the XLIFF file format:

MemoQ does only handle XLIFF 1.2: [url removed]

Déjà Vu does not seem to handle them, at least this is not specified in the supported formats: [url removed]

SDL Trados Studio does not specify this in the supported file types: [url removed]

WordFast Pro 3|5: No such information found on the specifications page or otherwise
