A link in every dialogue box to the ref docs would be a good start (and has been requested several times). Keyboard Maestro works that way and it's a good solution.

These are two features that I don't use myself. For alignment I use AlignFactory Light. And I don't use Total Recall because I create separate TMX files for every client. I clean them regularly and they stay small. No problem with 32 GB RAM. I don't use TMX properties either, because of the one TMX per client concept. The only use I can see for TR would be generic text, like press releases, etc. But for that I use all MT systems supported by CafeTran Espresso. This works much better for me because I can get inspiration from the work of other translators.
Never made friends with Total Recall: it doesn't offer fuzzy matches, it just scans its database for similar segments based on rather unclear criteria. Note that it has been removed from the Dashboard.
